There are a lot of reasons that individuals and families seek counseling. A common reason for seeking counseling is a personal desire to heal from events or situations that have caused emotional pain. There is also often a desire for personal growth. Whatever the situation, by considering counseling, a person is entertaining the idea that they want to transition from one “place” to another “place” that will bring them a greater sense of well-being. When a person decides to enter counseling, they have decided to embark on a journey. As a therapist, it is a great honor to be invited to be a part of this journey.
My personal philosophy is that the therapist and the client join together in this journey with the therapist acting as an interpreter at times, and a guide at others, always respecting the right of the client to determine the direction and pace of the traveling. Today you are taking an important step on the journey of personal empowerment, traveling a path to growth and well-being.
If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
